Order statuses

Please note: Functionality described on this page requires Download Monitor version 4.3 or above.

Orders in your Download Monitor shop have a status that reflects the current state of the order. On this page, we list the possible status your order can have and what this status means.

Pending Payment

This is the initial status an order gets when it is placed by your customer. This status is set before the customer is redirected to the payment gateway (for example in the case of PayPal). If your payment gateway does not require a redirect, this is still the initial status for the order but it will be updated within seconds on the same page.

Completed

This status means your order was successfully placed and paid. Your gateway received the payment, stored the transaction, and marked the order as completed. This is also the only state that allows your customer to download the files they bought.

Failed

A failed order is an order that failed to get completed. This can be because the user canceled the payment, the gateway they are using was down, etc. Failed orders never have successful transactions, unless you mark the order as failed manually.

Refundend

Sometimes things don’t work out and you have to refund an order. Instead of trashing the order, mark it as refunded. This is important for your administration to keep a record of sales and refunds.

Trash

Before an order is permanently deleted, it’s first put into your trash. This is done to prevent you from accidentally deleting an order.
